Welcome to Detroit 5th Gen Camaro Club! Please feel free to browse and check out some of the events that our members have access to. We have a great group of car lovers with tons of knowledge to share. There is plenty to see and do!

A great turnout for our February meeting with about 30 members joining us at Z’Villa restaurant right across the street from the James Martin dealership. Some took advantage of the offer from Becky and Joe to tour the dealership before the meeting started and had nothing but great things to say!

Name Change: with over 30 favorable responses to our name change poll, which far outweighs those not in favor, the club will be pursuing a name change. From a timing perspective, we would like to move forward quickly so that we are prepared for this coming season. 4 candidate names are noted below, however, suggestions may still be submitted over the next 5 days. We will then host a quick poll and finalize the selection. The candidate names so far are:
- Detroit Camaro Club
- Metro Detroit Camaro Club
- Motor City Camaro Club
- Detroit Modern Camaro Club

Upcoming events: CJ shared a great list of event “thoughts” for the upcoming year. Some highlights:

- Detroit Gran Prix: CJ has arranged the club to be onsite at Belle Isle for a Camaro Corral for the event. We have to provide a minimum of 25 cars for the corral. This will be available to paid members only and we will be partnering the NEOCC for this opportunity. Further arrangements are being checked to see if it is possible for the club to get on the track for a parade lap in the days leading up to the race. In a few days, a registration will open for the event and a code will be needed to register. If you are interested, contact CJ and he will get you the code. Cost is expected to be about $250 for a car and driver. A passenger will likely be an incremental cost of around $150. More details will be posted as the event is finalized.

- March membership meeting will be in conjunction with the Autorama. Instead of Friday, we will meet on Saturday. Z’Villa will open early for a 10am brunch and then they will shuttle us down together to the Autorama event.

- Milan Drag Day: Frank is working to line up a club day at the dragway. This is being targeted for late April as this is when the facility prepares to open. It is likely that in order to get some dedicated club time that we will have to hold this on a weekday. More details to come and we hope to provide advance notice so that members can consider planning a day off from work if necessary to join in on the fun.

- First Annual James Martin Car Show on May 12th. This is looking to be a great event and we hope to have a HUGE turnout. CJ has arranged for a police escort to head down to the event. We will meet up at Meijer on 8 Mile and Woodward and then we will have the escort down to James Martin. That is going to be quite a sight and quite an event that you won’t want to miss!

- Poker Run will be revisited this year with the potential of combining it with a Bonfire, I.e., the bonfire would be the last stop of the poker run. More info to come!

This is just a sample of many great ideas being proposed. Great work CJ and Frank! This is shaping up to be a great year!

Vaughn - Thank you for putting this together so quickly. Since work unexpectedly prevented me from being able to come to the meeting, I really appreciate it.
