Grats Dave on COTM!!
Iordered my car and recieved it in the fall of 2009. I drove it for 350 miles to make sure everything was good to go and then took it to Livernois Motorsports for some "up dating". The first mod was CAI, Kooks LT Headers with Hi-flo cats, complete Corsa exhaust and a custom dyno tune to the motor and trans. She came home to me with 374 RWHP and ran like a whole new animal!!! I also installed myself BMR toe rods and links.
I drove it to the first C5 fest in Ga. and turned a best of12.60@111MPH.
Of course, that was not enough as any of you that start moding will know what I mean!! Back to Livernois she went in the spring of 2011 for the 2C cam conversion, intake porting, retunedand a 2400 stall converter. This addition brought me up to 434 RWHP and 403 RWTQ. With this set up I ran a best of12.11@117MPH at Midmichigan Motorsports in Staton Mi. I was running the stock tires and was getting a "slight" tire spin when she was hitting second gear so I knew that I was in need of better tires on the rear.
Spring of 2012 with just over 6500 miles on her she went back to Livernois and I had them install the new 3.73 gears and I bought some new Nitto NT05 drag radials. I have not had her to the track yet this year but I feel pretty good that she will run a high 11!!!
I am still running the stock axles and all and they seem to be holding up good. I may be looking at a one piece drive shaft because I have heard that you actually get better 60 ft. times at the strip due to the split shaft having "some" flex on hard launches. Time will tell!
Up-date....I managed to run an 11.99 in the spring of this year @ Lapeer with some tire spin. I have not been able to repeat it though this year because the heat and humidity has beento high. I am pulling 1.8 60 ft. times with this set-up.
